*December 2024* ![[Web - 2024-12 - PS with Deb and Cheryl - 1 of 24.jpeg]] *Al fresco dining at Las Casuelas* ## Las Vegas, NV to Rancho Mirage, CA We picked up Deb and Cheryl in Las Vegas (it's so much cheaper to fly into, especially around the holidays) and then popped out to Henderson to see Deb's cousin John before making the big drive. We then drove four hours, including a fun adventure on smaller roads instead of interstates. We were routed through the Mohave nature preserve, which had these gorgeous plains/forests of Joshua Trees. We also just skirted around Joshua Tree national park via 29 Palms and Yucca Valley. Our quick adventure weekend with them included walking around downtown and in "old town" of Palm Springs -- the little general store with historic objects has reopened and is always fun to walk through. After a little happy hour tour of Arenas we drove around to look at some famous houses before going to our reservation at the bar of **Trixie Motel**! The next day we joined our friend Matt for a fabulous drag brunch at **Boozehounds** including some incredible performances by **Ada Vox** who was on **American Idol**, **America's Got Talent**, and **Queen of the Universe**! (The drag hostess, **Sabryna Williams**, was also a Top 40 finalist of **American Idol** Season 1!)
