Breakfast was included at Borei Angkor Resort & Spa, so we always stopped for a little snack in the mornings before starting our day. These tiny Eggs Benedict were adorable -- and I love miniature food.

A lovely charcuterie board for us to graze on back at the pool bar of the Borei Angkor Resort & Spa.
![[2025-03-Food - 9_web.jpeg]]
The nighttime foodie tour we took in Siem Reap included an exotic assortment of bugs to eat! I stuck with the crickets, mealworms, and tiny frogs... I wasn't ready to try tarantula but one of our vespa drivers ate one in front of us.

![[2025-03-Food - 11_web.jpeg]]
The foodie tour included a meal at Ratana Soupmresh where we had a delightful sampling of Khmer favorites.
![[2025-03-Food - 12_web.jpeg]]
Lovely botanical gin cocktails sampled at Old Wooden House in Siem Reap. We took a bottle all the way back to Seattle to give to our pal Scott.

I couldn't help but get a little treat at the airport.
## Singapore
![[2025-03-Food - 17_web.jpeg]]
Our order at Cafe Jubilant, back in Singapore. A little breakfast before our first full day exploring the city.
![[2025-03-Food - 18_web.jpeg]]
This Peanut Toast hit the spot -- a toasted peanut butter sandwich encrusted with more toasted peanuts!
![[2025-03-Food - 19_web.jpeg]]
A long search for a cocktail almost came up short, but our new friend Michael worked some magic and got us a table on a very hot day at Hopscotch at Gardens by the Bay.
![[2025-03-Food - 20_web.jpeg]]
High atop the Marina Bay Sands we rubbed elbows with the fabulous as we enjoyed a few cocktails and nibbles at Ce La Vi.
![[2025-03-Food - 21_web.jpeg]]
Across from Raffles Hotel and Long Bar (don't worry - we'll get there) we had some pizza at doc... while I was too hungry to get photos of the pizza I did manage to capture a few shots of the two salads we got. The one below is a cucumber avocado salad.

![[2025-03-Food - 23_web.jpeg]]
A happy family at Long Bar, the birthplace of the Singapore Sling! Upstairs at the Raffles Hotel we waited in line for a bit, but these were worth it and once inside we didn't feel rushed at all.
![[2025-03-Food - 24_web.jpeg]]
In one of the nearby malls (and there are a lot!) we grabbed a couple Krispy Kreme donuts in flavors I think we'd only find in Singapore.
![[2025-03-Food - 25_web.jpeg]]
I saw a street vendor while we wandered before going to Hawker Chan in Singapore, and started a little tradition of "see it / try it" on the trip! Among the family I was the one most likely to just say yes and try something new.
![[2025-03-Food - 26_web.jpeg]]
We had to try the Soya Chicken Rice of course, as well as a few other items at Hawker Chan - known for being the cheapest Michelin Star restaurant in the world. Originally in Singapore but can be found in multiple locations now.
![[2025-03-Food - 27_web.jpeg]]
Our order arrives -- yum!
![[2025-03-Food - 28_web.jpeg]]
Their signature dish, Soya Chicken Rice.
![[2025-03-Food - 29_web.jpeg]]
These fried dumplings with pork were my favorite -- and since Lori & Doug weren't as keen I got as many as I wanted.
## Celebrity Millennium
![[2025-03-Food - 30_web.jpeg]]
Once onboard Celebrity Millennium we laid out our spread of snacks - most of which we procured at *Don-Don Donkey, Donquitote!* It has an awesome theme song that I am still singing.

A Tomato tarte at Q Sine onboard Millennium, featuring Le Petit Chef. It's a whole dinner show incorporating projections of a tiny chef creating the dish you are about to enjoy.
## Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam
![[2025-03-Food - 33_web.jpeg]]
After explroing Mekong Delta near Ho Chi Min City, Vietnam we stopped for a family style meal including this bad boy. The servers took chunks and incorporated them into spring rolls that were rolled right at the table.
![[2025-03-Food - 34_web.jpeg]]
The final plate -- that lemongrass skewer had an awesome deep fried pork thing, those are deep fried spring rolls up front, you can see the tableside rolled spring roll underneath it, and a big prawn

## Hong Kong
![[2025-03-Food - 36_web.jpeg]]
We stopped at a Hong Kong quick-service spot Cafe de Coral where I enjoyed some sticky rice, shu mai, and congee.
## Taiwan
![[2025-03-Food - 37_web.jpeg]]
Lori grabbed a familiar snack at 7-11 in Taiwan.
![[2025-03-Food - 38_web.jpeg]]
In Chiufen, Taiwan we sampled some dumplings and noodles -- and a gigantic sushi roll for Doug.
![[2025-03-Food - 39_web.jpeg]]
This Honey Citron Tea / Black Tea combo I got at a shop in Chiufen, Taiwan was amazing... they were nice enough to show me what they use, I was hoping to buy some to take home with me.

![[2025-03-Food - 45_web.jpeg]]
Doug and I were getting hungry and stopped into a neighborhood ramen shop -- just a counter and a kitchen. So delicious with the pork belly. The menu was basically: large, small, or spicy.
![[2025-03-Food - 46_web.jpeg]]
I was in the mood for a mocha, and while we don't have Tully's here anymore there was one in Kagoshima. It delivered the coffee fix I was looking for.
![[2025-03-Food - 47_web.jpeg]]
Back at the port before getting on the ship, how can we resist trying another item or two from this food truck right at the port?

Warm red wine with freeze dried strawberries.
![[2025-03-Food - 57_web.jpeg]]
Strawberry Cream churro that Aunt Cathy was nice enough to share with me.
![[2025-03-Food - 59_web.jpeg]]
Horizon Bay Restaurant selection -- I have to say the food at Tokyo DisneySea really was great. They were showing other theme parks how it should be done.
![[2025-03-Food - 58_web.jpeg]]
Tasty dessert, too!
![[2025-03-Food - 60_web.jpeg]]
It was cold so I ordered a green tea at the kiosk near Horizon Bay Restaurant... and my hot tea was served in a bottle, so handy!

TeamLab Planets Tokyo has a little snack trailer outside where I had this awesome cherry almond muffin and Uzu beverage.
![[2025-03-Food - 68_web.jpeg]]
We hit the snack bar at WildMagic Rainbow Farm near Teamlab Planets Tokyo -- a big complex where people can rent/reserve tents and teepees with BBQ pits for a country cookout right in the city.

Last food pics of the trip were this brilliant blue cocktail at the Skytree Tower Observation Deck.
