I stuck with the crickets, mealworms, and tiny frogs... I wasn't ready to try tarantula but one of our vespa drivers ate one in front of us. ![[2025-03-Food - 10_web.jpeg]] ![[2025-03-Food - 11_web.jpeg]] The foodie tour included a meal at Ratana Soupmresh where we had a delightful sampling of Khmer favorites. ![[2025-03-Food - 12_web.jpeg]] Lovely botanical gin cocktails sampled at Old Wooden House in Siem Reap. A little breakfast before our first full day exploring the city. ![[2025-03-Food - 18_web.jpeg]] This Peanut Toast hit the spot -- a toasted peanut butter sandwich encrusted with more toasted peanuts! ![[2025-03-Food - 19_web.jpeg]] A long search for a cocktail almost came up short, but our new friend Michael worked some magic and got us a table on a very hot day at Hopscotch at Gardens by the Bay. ![[2025-03-Food - 20_web.jpeg]] High atop the Marina Bay Sands we rubbed elbows with the fabulous as we enjoyed a few cocktails and nibbles at Ce La Vi. ![[2025-03-Food - 21_web.jpeg]] Across from Raffles Hotel and Long Bar (don't worry - we'll get there) we had some pizza at doc... while I was too hungry to get photos of the pizza I did manage to capture a few shots of the two salads we got. Upstairs at the Raffles Hotel we waited in line for a bit, but these were worth it and once inside we didn't feel rushed at all. ![[2025-03-Food - 24_web.jpeg]] In one of the nearby malls (and there are a lot!) we grabbed a couple Krispy Kreme donuts in flavors I think we'd only find in Singapore. ![[2025-03-Food - 25_web.jpeg]] I saw a street vendor while we wandered before going to Hawker Chan in Singapore, and started a little tradition of "see it / try it" on the trip! Among the family I was the one most likely to just say yes and try something new. ![[2025-03-Food - 26_web.jpeg]] We had to try the Soya Chicken Rice of course, as well as a few other items at Hawker Chan - known for being the cheapest Michelin Star restaurant in the world. Originally in Singapore but can be found in multiple locations now. ![[2025-03-Food - 27_web.jpeg]] Our order arrives -- yum! ![[2025-03-Food - 28_web.jpeg]] Their signature dish, Soya Chicken Rice. ![[2025-03-Food - 29_web.jpeg]] These fried dumplings with pork were my favorite -- and since Lori & Doug weren't as keen I got as many as I wanted. ## Celebrity Millennium ![[2025-03-Food - 30_web.jpeg]] Once onboard Celebrity Millennium we laid out our spread of snacks - most of which we procured at *Don-Don Donkey, Donquitote!* It has an awesome theme song that I am still singing. ![[2025-03-Food - 31_web.jpeg]] Cocktail Class in the Martini Bar onboard the Millennium ![[2025-03-Food - 32_web.jpeg]] A Tomato tarte at Q Sine onboard Millennium, featuring Le Petit Chef. It's a whole dinner show incorporating projections of a tiny chef creating the dish you are about to enjoy. ## Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam ![[2025-03-Food - 33_web.jpeg]] After explroing Mekong Delta near Ho Chi Min City, Vietnam we stopped for a family style meal including this bad boy. The servers took chunks and incorporated them into spring rolls that were rolled right at the table. ![[2025-03-Food - 34_web.jpeg]] The final plate -- that lemongrass skewer had an awesome deep fried pork thing, those are deep fried spring rolls up front, you can see the tableside rolled spring roll underneath it, and a big prawn ## Celebrity Millennium ![[2025-03-Food - 35_web.jpeg]] Wonderful cocktail party spread onboard Millennium. ## Hong Kong ![[2025-03-Food - 36_web.jpeg]] We stopped at a Hong Kong quick-service spot Cafe de Coral where I enjoyed some sticky rice, shu mai, and congee. ## Taiwan ![[2025-03-Food - 37_web.jpeg]] Lori grabbed a familiar snack at 7-11 in Taiwan. ![[2025-03-Food - 38_web.jpeg]] In Chiufen, Taiwan we sampled some dumplings and noodles -- and a gigantic sushi roll for Doug. ![[2025-03-Food - 39_web.jpeg]] This Honey Citron Tea / Black Tea combo I got at a shop in Chiufen, Taiwan was amazing... they were nice enough to show me what they use, I was hoping to buy some to take home with me. ![[2025-03-Food - 40_web.jpeg]] ## Celebrity Millennium ![[2025-03-Food - 41_web.jpeg]] A second evening with Le Petit Chef at Q Sine. ## Kagoshima, Japan ![[2025-03-Food - 42_web.jpeg]] Gorgeous pastry at Akashiya that we enjoyed with some Japanese green tea. So delicious with the pork belly.
