On "Day Zero" of the trip we stayed overnight in Singapore on our way to Cambodia. Singapore Airlines Premium Economy for the long flight to Singapore -- and it was long! ![[2025-03-Singapore - 1_web.jpeg]] ![[2025-03-Singapore - 2_web.jpeg]] But the Singapore Airport was beautiful & impressive! ![[2025-03-Singapore - 3_web.jpeg]] The walkways in our hotel opened up to a great view of the airport and runways. The rooms were still quiet enough to sleep comfortably in -- if you could fight the jet lag. ![[2025-03-Singapore - 4_web.jpeg]] Walking toward security. I loved all the foliage they incorporated into the airport design. ![[2025-03-Singapore - 5_web.jpeg]] You run into these indoor gardens across the terminals, which would be a lovely spot to stop for a sit. ![[2025-03-Singapore - 6_web.jpeg]] ![[2025-03-Singapore - 7_web.jpeg]] After Cambodia we found ourselves in Singapore once again, this time staying in the city for a few days of exploration. ![[2025-03-Singapore - 8_web.jpeg]] ![[2025-03-Singapore - 9_web.jpeg]] Breakfast on the first morning for Doug and I was a shop called **Cafe Jubilant**. ![[2025-03-Singapore - 10_web.jpeg]] ![[2025-03-Singapore - 11_web.jpeg]] Lots of options on the menu board -- I settled for a peanut butter toast sandwich and Doug got a fairly standard looking breakfast combo. ![[2025-03-Singapore - 12_web.jpeg]] We hired a driver for the first day to help us get our bearings -- first stop? **Merlion Park**! ![[2025-03-Singapore - 13_web.jpeg]] A nice view of whatever this building is! ![[2025-03-Singapore - 14_web.jpeg]] Located across the bay from **Marina Bay Sands** Hotel. ![[2025-03-Singapore - 15_web.jpeg]] Two sets of cable cars then gave us a view of the city and the Universal Park and Sea Park below us. ![[2025-03-Singapore - 16_web.jpeg]] ![[2025-03-Singapore - 17_web.jpeg]] ![[2025-03-Singapore - 18_web.jpeg]] ![[2025-03-Singapore - 19_web.jpeg]] Nearing the end of the line. ![[2025-03-Singapore - 20_web.jpeg]] I just liked the look of him, a sculpture in the lobby of our hotel. ![[2025-03-Singapore - 21_web.jpeg]] Atop **Marina Bay Sands** we went to a bar event called Kunda -- great music, we definitely were not the crowd that would be sticking around after sunset... this place was set to be jumping shortly after we left. ![[2025-03-Singapore - 22_web.jpeg]] Those views, though! ![[2025-03-Singapore - 23_web.jpeg]] Right next to the bar was one of the pools for guests. ![[2025-03-Singapore - 24_web.jpeg]] On the opposite side of the building from the bar was the view of [[Singapore - Gardens by the Bay|Gardens by the Bay]] which deserved its own photo album. ![[2025-03-Singapore - 25_web.jpeg]] Hawker Center dinner. ![[2025-03-Singapore - 26_web.jpeg]] Delicious bites to be found inside. ![[2025-03-Singapore - 27_web.jpeg]] I took a nice evening walk back to the hotel from the Hawker Center with Mom & Dad. ![[2025-03-Singapore - 28_web.jpeg]] ![[2025-03-Singapore - 30_web.jpeg]] ![[2025-03-Singapore - 31_web.jpeg]] A little walking tour on our second-to-last morning -- and the **Raffles Hotel** (birthplace of the Singapore Sling cocktail) was in our sights. ![[2025-03-Singapore - 32_web.jpeg]] Gorgeous facade of the Raffles Hotel. ![[2025-03-Singapore - 33_web.jpeg]] But first -- why not start off with some margaritas & chips while you wait for dinner? ![[2025-03-Singapore - 34_web.jpeg]] ...and what if that dinner was Pizza? While we waited for **Hawker Chan** to open nearby we visited a local temple. ![[2025-03-Singapore - 50_web.jpeg]] ![[2025-03-Singapore - 51_web.jpeg]] ![[2025-03-Singapore - 52_web.jpeg]] ![[2025-03-Singapore - 53_web.jpeg]] ![[2025-03-Singapore - 54_web.jpeg]] ![[2025-03-Singapore - 55_web.jpeg]] ![[2025-03-Singapore - 56_web.jpeg]] ![[2025-03-Singapore - 57_web.jpeg]] In line for **Hawker Chan**, a street food vendor who ended up earning a Michelin star... the cheapest Michelin star meal ever! ![[2025-03-Singapore - 58_web.jpeg]] The signature dish is **Soya Sauce Chicken** but we wanted to try a few things so we also got some pork and some fried dumplings. ![[2025-03-Singapore - 59_web.jpeg]] Took public transit back to the hotel -- super clean, reliable, and easy to figure out!
