Since the event ends so late we got a hotel room, and while there is just two of us we managed to get a room that sleeps about a dozen.

At the after-hours events you are able to "mix in" with the normal park guests for the last two hours of their normal operating day. So we got to enter at 6pm and the park closed early at 8pm to regular guests.

Walking down Main Street is always a nice introduction to a day/evening at the park!
We got to the parks a little earlier than our friend Mandel who we were meeting up with. Pirates of the Caribbean was a walk-on, so we did that before heading back to Galaxy's Edge.
Rise of the Resistance was only operating until 7:00pm so when Mandel and friends arrived we got into line before they cut it off.
We waited in line (luckily a little less than the time posted), saw the pre-show briefing, rode the transport and got captured by the Empire. When we were about to be interrogated, though, the ride went down and we were evacuated out some backstage corridors. (Whomp whomp!)
There was 20 minutes left of the operating day, so we were issues fastpasses but needed to get somewhere QUICK to use 'em. We decided Space Mountain so dashed off that direction and to try to skip the line while we could, meeting back up with Mandel later.
And we made it! Got to skip an hour long line. Phew!

Mission Complete!
We grabbed some food, rode Buzz Lightyear, and then got a spot for the Pride Night Welcome Cavalcade near Pixie Hollow and the Matterhorn.
And boom! Just like that, Pride Night officially started -- the Matterhorn lit up in Pride colors.

Miss Adventure, Miss Frontier, Miss Fantasy, and Miss Tomorrow lead things off.

Hey Dale!

The boss man himself.
After the Cavalcade we grabbed ice cream and met up with Mandel for the fireworks show. Then they went off to do some Line Dancing and we explored a bit more.
Trekking through Adventureland where these special event crowds made it EASY to get through what's usually a really crowded area.
Stopping for a photo, they had special decor up all over the place adding to the festivities.
No Fantastmic! tonight, but a DJ at the Rivers of America kept the tunes going for one of the dance parties.
Visiting 999 Happy Haunts next!
And exploring the Temple of the Forbidden Eye.
Didn't heed Sallah's warning... almost got lost beyond the gates of doom.
We met up with the gang again to ride Mickey & Minnie's Runway Railway, one of our new favorites.
And a spin on Star Tours was our last ride of the night!

On the way out, Main Street was a rainbow fantasy as the iconic "We are Family" played us out of the park. We'll be back next year I'd say!
